EACH AND EVERY 

Untuk kalimat yang diawali “ Each / Every “ diikuti dengan “ Singular Noun “ lalu “ Singular Verb “.

Each/Every + Singular Noun + Singular Verb

·         Each people in the world is different .
(people = singular noun, is = to be ) 

·         Every boy and girl is in here.
(boy and girl = sungular noun, is = singular verb )

Jika tidak ada “Verb” maka diganti dengan “ to be”

PREPOSITIONAL PHRASE

Untuk subjek yang dikuti “Prepositional Phrase”, maka untuk menentukan Verb-nya  Singular / Plural itu ditentukan oleh Subjeknya.

·         The singer on the stage is pretty.
(The singer = Singular Subject, is = Singular Verb )

·         The story books on the table are mine.
(The story books = Plural Subject, are = Plural Verb )

GERUND

Jika “ Gerund “ sebagai Subjek, maka Verb-nya Singular.

·         Cooking cake is very fun.
(Cooking = gerund, is = singular verb )

·         Playing football is healthy
(Playing = gerund, is = singular verb )

SOME OF, A LOT OF, MOST OF, A HALF OF

Jika diikuti “Singular Noun”, maka Verb-nya  Singular .
Jika diikuti “Plural Noun”, maka Verb-nya Plural.

·         Some of student in this class is slacker.
(student  = Singular Noun, is = Singular Verb )

·         Most of our exam questions are very difficult.
(our exam questions = Plural Noun, are = Plural Verb )

ONE OF, EACH OF, EVERY ONE OF

Selalu diikuti “ Plural Noun” dan Verb-nya Singular.

·         One of my friends is singer.
(my friends = Plural Noun,  is = Singular Verb )

·         Each of my firends is different.
(my firends = Plural Noun, is = Singular Verb )

THE NUMBER OF , A NUMBER OF

The Number Of  diikuti “Plural Noun” kemudian “ Singular Verb”
